One in six New Zealand adults have been diagnosed with a common mental disorder at some time in their lives. The likelihood that this statistic will present in your workplace is high. How you respond will determine how quickly your employee or work colleague receives the critical support they need. Often dealing with distressed employees can be one of the greatest challenges any workplace face.
In addition to the full range of regular tasks any employer, manager, supervisor or employee are presented with on a daily basis, the added responsibility of managing staff who exhibit what may at times be extreme changes in emotional states or demanding mental health issues can be overwhelming and leave them feeling unprepared and under resourced.
Unfortunately, the workplace often provides limited or no training in these areas.
Mental Health Matters in the Workplace training will provide attendees with the skills, knowledge and confidence in how to Recognise, Support and Respond to mental health concerns in the workplace.
You should expect a workshop of in-depth discussions, visual learning activities, scenario-based activities, quizzes and knowledge sharing.
A certificate in Mental Health Matters in the Workplace will be awarded on completion of this course.
Attendees are not expected to have had any previous training or experience.
Recommended for Employers, Business owners, Managers, Supervisors and Employees. Over the age of 18 years.
Please note that this course is not a personal wellbeing workshop, therapy or support group. It is an educational programme equipping you with the skills and understanding of Mental Health Matters in the Workplace
